CEL LAB Raises Investment to Scale Carbon Capture Membrane Production for CCUS and Green Energy
en.wowtale.netSouth Korean climate tech startup CEL LAB has secured funding from accelerator Krypton through the RICON Fund to scale up its carbon capture membrane production. The company plans to build a pilot manufacturing line with an annual capacity of 120,000 square meters by the end of 2026, targeting commercial production for CCUS markets including onboard carbon capture for ships. CEL LAB's gas separation membranes also apply to biogas upgrading and hydrogen recovery, and the company has already exported research-grade modules to Purdue University. CEL LAB is also working on bipolar membranes for battery recycling and collaborating with U.S. research groups at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the University of Illinois Chicago. The company was named Outstanding Venture of the Month by the Korea Venture Business Association and selected for the Net Zero Challenge X program. The investment from Krypton's RICON Fund supports CEL LAB's goal of completing a global smart mega factory by 2033.
