Cefmof Hydrogen and Finnish climate tech firm Reduciner are deepening their collaboration to turn captured carbon dioxide into useful low-carbon products. Cefmof is investing EUR 1.5 million in Reduciner, which has developed electrified technology that converts CO2 and biobased feedstocks into syngas and activated carbon. The two companies plan to combine Reduciner's process with renewable hydrogen to create new industrial applications, including synthetic methane. A pilot project in Jyvaskyla, Finland, will use biogenic CO2 from Mustankorkea's biogas plant and hydrogen produced by Cefmof to make synthetic methane, with first tests expected in 2027. Reduciner is also scaling up toward a one-megawatt continuous pilot plant in Ranua. The investment strengthens Reduciner's path to commercialization and gives Cefmof a foothold in carbon utilization, which could expand hydrogen's role beyond mobility into industrial feedstocks and fuel production.
