Finnish climate tech startup Reduciner has raised €1.5 million in a seed round led by Cefmof Hydrogen Oy. The funding will support Reduciner's electrified technology that converts captured carbon dioxide and biobased feedstocks into synthesis gas and activated carbon. The syngas, rich in carbon monoxide and hydrogen, can serve as an industrial feedstock, potentially replacing fossil-based inputs. A joint pilot is starting in Jyväskylä, where Cefmof operates Finland's first hydrogen refuelling station and is building its own hydrogen production unit. The partnership aims to combine renewable hydrogen with captured CO2 to create low-carbon solutions. The investment deepens an existing collaboration and marks a concrete step toward carbon circularity in industrial processes. For Reduciner, the funding accelerates development and commercialisation. The pilot will test the technology's viability at scale, and its success could influence broader adoption of carbon-to-syngas routes. The deal signals growing interest in using captured emissions as a raw material rather than releasing them.
