Cefmof Hydrogen and Reduciner Partner to Convert Captured CO2 and Renewable Hydrogen into Syngas and Synthetic Methane
hydrogen-central.comCefmof Hydrogen and Finnish climate tech firm Reduciner are deepening their cooperation to develop new hydrogen applications. Reduciner's technology converts captured CO2 and biobased feedstocks into syngas, which can be combined with renewable hydrogen to create low-carbon products. The companies plan a methanation pilot in Jyvaskyla, using biogenic CO2 from Mustankorkea's biogas plant and hydrogen from Cefmof's production unit, with first tests expected in 2027. Cefmof is investing EUR 1.5 million in Reduciner and will become a shareholder. Reduciner recently raised EUR 3.6 million in a funding round and is planning a 1 MW continuous pilot in Ranua. The cooperation aims to demonstrate carbon circularity and expand hydrogen use beyond transport into industrial feedstocks.
