They are promoting the use of verified Environmental Product Declarations and Life Cycle Assessments to provide precise data on the carbon impact of building materials. To support this, CCF introduced a carbon calculation tool called CONNECT. The tool aims to help contractors track materials from the manufacturer to the job site, allowing for better pre-construction planning and more accurate ESG reporting.

Agreed. But for the small subcontractors, the overhead of tracking every single board and bag of plaster is a pain. If the tool does not automate the data entry, it will just be another spreadsheet that nobody updates.

Financials aside, the supply chain transparency is the key. If we can actually track the carbon from the plant to the site, we can find the actual hotspots. Does the CONNECT tool account for transport emissions or just the product itself?
