Carlsberg Vietnam shared its green manufacturing playbook at the Green Industries Summit 2026, detailing how its Phu Bai Brewery expansion in Hue grew capacity by over half while using roughly 20% less water and 15% less energy per unit of beer. The plant now consumes about 2.1 hectoliters of water per hectoliter of beer and recycles CO2 from fermentation. The company also reports a 98.5% returnable bottle collection rate and zero waste to landfill across its operations since early 2026. On the energy side, Carlsberg Vietnam has used I-REC-backed renewable electricity since 2022, is installing rooftop solar from Q3 2026 to cover up to 10% of brewery power needs, and is working toward direct power purchase agreements starting in 2028. Company leadership stressed that scaling these efforts requires clearer regulation, workable commercial structures, and better grid infrastructure, not just corporate action.
