Carbon Ridge has successfully piloted its centrifugal onboard carbon capture and storage system on a Scorpio Tankers vessel. DNV verified that the system reached peak CO2 capture rates of 98%, with a significant portion of observations falling between 86% and 98% during a five month trial. The modular system is designed to integrate with existing ship exhaust systems and claims to be significantly smaller than conventional carbon capture technology. This development provides a potential pathway for commercial shipping fleets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and meet IMO regulations.
