DNV has verified that Carbon Ridge's centrifugal onboard carbon capture and storage (OCCS) system achieved peak CO2 capture rates of 98% during a five month pilot. The system was tested on a Scorpio Tankers LR2 product tanker during normal commercial operations. This modular technology aims to reduce the size and volume of carbon capture equipment by up to 75% compared to traditional systems. The verification helps establish a standardized performance reporting framework for the shipping industry to scale decarbonization efforts.
