CapitaLand Investment reports 18% carbon intensity cut, details sustainability strategy for real assets

The company also cut energy intensity by 15.6%, water intensity by 22.4%, and waste intensity by 44.1%. These results come from operational improvements, green building certifications covering 66% of its portfolio, and renewable energy deployment across more than 130 properties globally. The report details CLI's 2030 Sustainability Master Plan with science based targets aligned to a 1.5 degree Celsius trajectory. The company aims to cut absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 46% by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050. CLI also secured S$5.7 billion in sustainable finance in 2025, bringing cumulative sustainable financing to about S$26 billion since 2018. Sustainability linked loans and bonds tie interest rates to specific carbon, energy, and water intensity targets, creating a direct financial incentive for decarbonization.
