Canadian firm VZFOX to open Bengaluru office for oilfield recovery and CCUS work in India
business-standard.comCanada's VZFOX is entering India with a five-person Bengaluru team to work on mature oilfield revitalization, reservoir optimization, EOR/IOR, and carbon storage. The company says it will help Indian operators get more from existing fields while supporting CCUS projects. The move comes as India's crude import dependence hit 88.7% in FY26 and domestic output fell to 28 million tonnes from 29.7 million tonnes in FY22. VZFOX joined Canada's Team Canada Trade Mission to India and plans to build relationships with operators, engineering firms, EPCs, and project developers before scaling up. The firm brings subsurface expertise from Canada's mature reservoirs, with a focus on reducing uncertainty and connecting reservoir understanding to capital decisions. For anyone tracking carbon capture, the open question is whether these projects lead to permanent CO2 storage or mostly extend oil production.
