Canada has unveiled a massive clean electricity strategy to double its grid capacity by 2050. The plan involves a 1 trillion CAD investment focusing on a mix of hydro, nuclear, wind, solar, and geothermal energy to drive national decarbonization. This shift marks a transition from previous regulations by allowing a larger role for natural gas and carbon capture to maintain grid stability. The government also aims to support one million household energy retrofits and create 130,000 new jobs in the energy sector.
