Canada has unveiled a new clean electricity strategy aiming to double the national power grid by 2050. The plan involves a 1 trillion dollar investment focusing on a diverse energy mix, including nuclear, hydro, wind, solar, and geothermal, while introducing more flexibility for LNG power plants. The strategy also targets energy costs for millions of households and includes a plan for one million energy saving retrofits. To meet these goals, the government expects a need for 130,000 new workers to address current labor shortages in the electricity sector.
