Canada Nickel and GeoRedox have signed an agreement to develop a stimulated geologic hydrogen well at the Crawford Nickel Project in Ontario. The project uses Advanced Weathering Enhancement technology to extract zero-carbon hydrogen from natural chemical reactions in ultramafic rock. This demonstration is the first step toward creating a zero-carbon industrial cluster in the Timmins Nickel District. If successful, the technology could provide a low-cost hydrogen supply to decarbonize the production of nickel, cobalt, and iron.
