Canada Goose cuts operational emissions 50% with heat pumps and better supply chain data
sustainablebiz.caCanada Goose released its FY 2026 impact report, showing a 50% cut in Scope 1 and 2 emissions from a 2019 baseline. The company replaced natural gas equipment with electric heat pumps at its Ontario and Manitoba manufacturing sites and installed a heat capture system that reduced one facility's Scope 1 emissions by 60%. It also raised its use of preferred fibers from 21% to 91% since 2021. The company is now focusing on Scope 3 supply chain emissions, which rose 18% from FY 2023 to FY 2026 and make up most of its total carbon footprint. Canada Goose completed life-cycle assessments for all products using a tool from Carbonfact and is working with suppliers to get facility-level data on energy sources and farming practices. It validated its targets under the Science Based Targets initiative and aims for net-zero by 2050.
