Two Guelph based not for profits, Bioenterprise Canada Corporation and the Canadian Food Innovation Network, received over $10 million in federal funding. The money supports the Agricultural Clean Technology Program to develop tools that lower the carbon footprint of the food and farming sectors. Funding will target innovations such as bio based packaging and fertilizer alternatives. These projects aim to increase sustainability and reduce long term costs for Canadian agriculture through better technology and data analysis.
