The Canadian federal government and Alberta are finalizing a cooperation agreement to adjust carbon pricing. The deal aims to raise carbon credit costs for local industrial emitters to 130 CAD per ton. While the pricing agreement is nearing completion, other critical issues remain. Negotiations regarding oil sands greenhouse gas management and the approval of new crude oil export pipelines have not yet been resolved.
