Canada and Alberta have established a harmonized regulatory framework for carbon management. The agreement introduces carbon contracts for difference (CFD) and incentives for carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) to reduce investment risk for low carbon energy projects. KALiNA Power intends to use these new rules to support its 200MW gas fired plants. The framework also allows for a delay in physical emissions abatement for gas generators until 2035, provided the new carbon initiatives prove effective.
