Calix, through its Leilac subsidiary, has signed a joint development agreement with Ambuja Cements to develop a low-carbon cement project in India. The partnership aims to retrofit industrial facilities with technology that lowers fuel consumption and increases renewable electricity usage. No capital contribution is required from Calix or Leilac at any stage. The initial phase will assess the technology before a final construction decision is made, with a technology licence agreement also planned.
