Calgon Carbon doubles reactivated carbon capacity at Texas plant
chemengonline.comCalgon Carbon completed a multi-million-dollar expansion at its Crosby, Texas facility, nearly doubling output capacity for reactivated carbon. The site, acquired in 2024, serves Gulf Coast industrial customers who use activated carbon to capture contaminants. Thermal reactivation restores spent carbon for reuse, cutting waste and lowering treatment costs compared with producing virgin carbon. The company says the expansion strengthens domestic supply chains and reduces the carbon footprint of purification processes. It is part of a broader push to keep more carbon in service and reduce reliance on newly manufactured material. The project adds to Calgon Carbon's U.S. manufacturing and reactivation network.
