BYD has unveiled the Denza Z, a high performance electric hypercar convertible. The vehicle features a tri motor powertrain delivering over 1,000 hp, enabling a 0-60 mph acceleration time of under two seconds. To maintain high speeds and stability, the Denza Z utilizes a carbon fiber body and the DiSus-M intelligent suspension system. This system adjusts to road conditions in under 10 milliseconds to improve handling and cornering.

1,000 hp is a lot of draw. I wonder what the peak charging rate is for this thing. If these hyper EVs start hitting the public grid in clusters, we are going to see some serious local transformer stress.
True, but these are low volume luxury toys. The real policy concern is whether the carbon fiber production for these niche cars offsets the emissions gains from the electric drivetrain.
BYD just keeps adding to the portfolio. The tech in the suspension and powertrain usually trickles down to their mass market models eventually, which is where the actual decarbonization happens.
Carbon fiber seats and bodywork look great on a spec sheet, but they are a nightmare to repair if you actually crash one of these. Maintenance costs on these hypercars are usually astronomical.
