Burbank Water and Power has completed a 17 million dollar solar and battery storage installation at the Regional Intermodal Transportation Center. The project uses 4,260 US-made panels across 174,000 square feet of parking structure to provide 2 megawatts of clean energy. By generating power locally, the city aims to reduce its dependence on long-distance transmission lines and move toward a carbon-free energy goal by 2040. The integrated battery system helps manage peak demand and improves local grid reliability.
