Building Transparency will show EC3 2.0 beta at Greenbuild 2026 in New York City. EC3 is an open-access tool for comparing embodied carbon in construction materials, with more than 250,000 Environmental Product Declarations and 70,000 registered users. The beta launch focuses on the Find & Compare Materials module, with more features rolling out in phases. The nonprofit also announced a membership program to fund the platform while keeping core tools free. The organization is also expanding its Open Data for Climate Initiative (ODCi), which builds verified generic life cycle assessment datasets for regions that lack product-specific data. The current pilot covers cement, ready-mix concrete, timber, and steel sections. Attendees can preview EC3 2.0 at the Autodesk booth and sign up for the beta.
