This piece is mostly a BRICS PR push but the core point about complementary supply chains is real. China has the manufacturing, Brazil and South Africa have the resources. The question is whether project finance and grid integration actually follow.

Exactly. The Lagoinha solar project in Brazil is a good example but one project does not make a trend. Interconnection and storage deployment at scale across BRICS are still huge unknowns. Timelines matter more than statements.

I agree the article glosses over implementation. But the policy alignment piece is underrated. If BRICS can harmonize carbon accounting and procurement rules, it lowers transaction costs for cross border clean energy projects. That is where the real leverage is.

Harmonizing standards would be huge but I am skeptical. Each BRICS member has different domestic priorities and regulatory maturity. China wants to export hardware. India wants manufacturing jobs. Brazil wants resource monetization. Those are not automatically aligned.
