Brazil's Ministry of Finance announced that the country has raised USD 5.5 billion through green sovereign bond issuances between 2023 and 2025. The Climate Fund grew 316 times to around BRL 27 billion over the same period. These funds are directed at energy transition, green industries, sustainable logistics, forest conservation, and water resource management. The government also committed BRL 30.7 billion in 2025 to technology projects through sectoral funds managed by Aneel and ANP, with regional banks joining BNDES in credit support. Officials highlighted progress on carbon market regulation, a sustainable finance taxonomy, low-emission hydrogen, strategic minerals, and sustainable aviation fuel. The Ecological Transition Plan, launched in 2023, is designed to attract investment while balancing environmental and social goals. Brazil aims to continue these green investments through 2032, positioning itself as a leader in sustainable development. The plan's success will depend on execution and whether the funding translates into measurable emissions reductions and resilience on the ground.
