Bracell, a pulp producer operating in Brazil, reports a 47% reduction in carbon emissions intensity per ton of pulp between 2020 and 2025. The company now sits at 0.257 tCO2e per ton across its Bahia, São Paulo, and Mato Grosso do Sul operations. The gains come from a modernized cooking line at its Camaçari unit, which lowered steam demand, and from roughly 90% renewable energy use at its industrial site. The company also tracks emissions through an annual inventory and runs continuous air quality monitoring for NOx, SOx, particulates, and reduced sulfur compounds, with results staying below legal limits. Bracell's climate plan targets a 75% intensity cut by 2030 and the removal of 25 million tons of CO2 equivalent over the decade. So far it has removed about 6 million tons, with 3.4 million removed in 2025 alone. Its One for One commitment supports conservation of native forest area equal to its eucalyptus plantations.
