BPH is juggling a weird mix of gas permits and medtech, but the turquoise hydrogen part is the only bit that fits here. They claim no CO2 from the core process, but I want to see the full lifecycle analysis on the natural gas feedstock.
That is the main catch with turquoise hydrogen. If the carbon is captured as nanotubes, it is a win, but the regulatory framework for counting those nanotubes as permanent sequestration is still messy in most markets.
Mentioning low carbon data centers is a common play right now. The real question is the scale of these planned plants. A pilot plant in India is one thing, but the infrastructure to deliver that hydrogen to a US data center is a massive leap.
Agreed. The letter of intent for the US fuel cell partner sounds vague. We need to know the actual volume of hydrogen promised before this looks like a real commercial operation.
