Boral launches automated embodied carbon reporting for concrete products
climatecontrolnews.com.auBoral has introduced an automated carbon reporting service for concrete customers. It replaces manual compilation of environmental product declarations with a single statement covering total embodied carbon and product-level breakdowns across supplied concrete. The data comes from actual delivery dockets and Boral's back-end database, including raw material inputs, origin, and estimated transport emissions. The service supports project-level and portfolio-level analysis, which matters as mandatory sustainability reporting expands across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. Boral says the automated process can deliver reports within 72 hours, compared to over three months for the traditional manual route. It complements the company's existing EPD On Demand service, which produces third-party verified, project-specific environmental product declarations. For construction firms, developers, and building owners, this means easier access to embodied carbon numbers without waiting months or paying consultants to dig through EPDs. The faster reporting also helps customers see the impact of Boral's ongoing decarbonisation efforts in cement and concrete production.
