Boomitra pledges 20 million acres to regenerative agriculture by 2030 at Mexico City Groundswell event
einpresswire.comBoomitra used a Mexico City screening of the documentary Groundswell to announce a 20 million acre regenerative agriculture commitment by 2030. That is roughly double the acreage the soil carbon company says it works on today. The pledge feeds into One Billion Acres, the film's impact campaign, which reports 331 million acres identified or committed so far. Boomitra says it works with 150,000 farmers and ranchers across 11 countries, using cover crops, reduced tillage and rotational grazing. It relies on satellite data, AI and soil samples to estimate carbon removal, and says producers receive most of the revenue. The company claims 15 million tons of CO2 removed to date. The announcement itself does not include third-party verification or a breakdown of how the 2030 target will be funded.
