Bolder Industries gets final permits for European waste tire pyrolysis plant in Antwerp, targeting 86 ktpa capacity and 85% emissions reduction vs virgin carbon black

Bolder Industries has secured final permits to build its first commercial-scale waste tire pyrolysis plant in Europe, located in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges. The EU Innovation Fund backed project will process up to 86 kilotonnes of end-of-life tires per year across two phases, producing recovered carbon black and pyrolysis oil. Phase 1 alone will handle 43 ktpa and create over 50 local jobs. The company claims its continuous thermal pyrolysis process recovers 98% of each tire's material content. At full capacity, the plant is expected to divert nearly 6 million tires annually and cut lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by up to 85% compared to virgin carbon black production. Bolder estimates the facility will avoid 606 kilotonnes of CO2e over its first decade of operation. The Antwerp site adds European production to Bolder's existing U.S. operations in Missouri and Indiana. No public objections were filed during the permit consultation period, and the project has equity backing from Tiger Infrastructure Partners.
