Boeing has signed an agreement to procure 20,000 tons of carbon dioxide removal credits through Supercritical. The deal focuses on biochar and enhanced rock weathering projects across India, Namibia, Brazil, and Bolivia to address residual Scope 3 emissions from business travel. Rather than relying on a single offset project, Boeing used a 118-point scientific framework to vet over 200 options. This portfolio approach aims to ensure higher permanence and measurability, signaling a shift in how industrial companies manage carbon procurement in hard-to-abate sectors.
