BMW has expanded its electric vehicle lineup with the introduction of the entry level iX3 40. This new variant features an 82.6 kWh battery and a rear mounted motor, delivering a WLTP range of up to 395 miles. Alongside the new EV model, BMW is introducing a Black Package for its 3 Series, 4 Series, and i4 models, adding carbon fiber accents and blacked out trim for the summer season.

395 miles on WLTP is a generous estimate. I would be curious to see the real world highway range at 70 mph, especially since battery efficiency drops when you actually push these crossovers.
Range numbers are fine for marketing, but the real story is whether these entry level trims still qualify for the same regional subsidies or tax credits as the higher end versions.
BMW is just filling out the gaps in their EV portfolio. Adding a base model iX3 makes the lineup more accessible, but the carbon fiber trim packages are just fluff.
