Bloomberg launches portfolio climate alignment scoring and emissions tracking tools for investors
esgtoday.comBloomberg expanded its Transition Toolkit with new features for portfolio managers. The tools include climate risk scenario stress testing with look-through analysis across funds and ETFs, Temporal Carbon Attribution to track changes in portfolio emissions over time, and Climate Alignment Scores that compare companies against sector and regional transition pathways. The scores use Bloomberg's carbon emissions forecasts to help investors build transition funds. The toolkit is designed for assessing corporate transition plan credibility, evaluating financial impacts under different scenarios, and managing transition risks while keeping portfolio diversification. It uses data from BloombergNEF and is available through the Bloomberg Terminal, Data License, PORT, and MARS Climate. The launch comes as global energy transition investment hit $2.3 trillion in 2025, with rising demand for tools that go beyond basic climate exposure measurement.
