Topco Energy Service and Bloom Energy have installed a 2.6MW solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) system at an IC design firm's data center in Miaoli, Taiwan. This deployment marks the first time a distributed, low-carbon power system of this type has been used for a data center in the country. The project addresses growing energy demands and grid constraints facing AI data centers. By generating power on-site, the facility reduces its reliance on the traditional electrical grid and lowers its carbon footprint.
