BKV Corporation said a subsidiary signed an equipment supply contract for roughly 1,200 megawatts of natural gas fired generation in Texas. The deal is backed by an investment grade hyperscaler agreement covering about 90% of payments through March 2027. That gives the project clearer demand signals, but final power purchase terms are still the main thing to watch. BKV is positioning this as part of a gas, power, and carbon capture platform. The company has a CCUS target of 1 million tons per year, and analysts expect revenue near US$1.6 billion by 2029. Whether the carbon capture piece actually scales will decide if this is just more gas capacity or a lower carbon power product for large data center customers. For anyone tracking grid and energy transition trends, this deal shows hyperscalers are willing to back long lead gas capacity in ERCOT. The risk is still execution: firm offtake, CCUS progress, and balance sheet discipline as BKV builds out the project.
