Biochar Production in Yarra Valley: Reducing Waste and Sequestering Soil Carbon

A new biochar facility in Lysterfield is converting organic waste and storm debris into carbon-rich charcoal. This process prevents the emissions associated with open burning and provides farmers with a tool to improve water retention and nutrient storage in the soil.
