BigRep and Endless Industries have integrated continuous carbon fiber reinforcement into the IPSO 105 3D printer. This system uses pre-impregnated filaments to create industrial parts that are up to 20 times stronger than standard thermoplastics, targeting a reduction in reliance on CNC-machined metal components. The technology utilizes Akio software to automatically optimize fiber placement within parts. This approach is aimed at aerospace, medical, and industrial tooling applications where high strength and low weight are critical for efficiency.
