Bigadan is starting biogenic CO2 capture at its BioEnergi facility in Kalundborg, Denmark. The project will initially capture 27,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, with a target to reach 200,000 tonnes by 2030. This creates a commercial chain from biogas production to permanent storage. The captured carbon will be transported to the North Sea for permanent storage via Project Greensand. This initiative leverages Denmark's circular economy network to turn agricultural and industrial waste into biogas while removing carbon from the atmosphere.
