BIDV, the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam, has become the first Vietnamese bank to join the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF). PCAF is a global alliance of over 750 financial institutions that provides standardized methods for measuring and disclosing financial emissions, which are emissions tied to loans and investments rather than direct bank operations. By joining PCAF, BIDV gains access to emission coefficients for different countries and sectors, a framework for data quality assessment, and training through the PCAF Academy. This will help the bank build a system to measure its financed emissions and create a credible reduction roadmap, supporting Vietnam's net zero commitment.
