Bhutan and World Bank Secure $515 Million for Dorjilung Hydropower Project

This project aims to provide about one third of the country's total energy generation, reducing seasonal energy gaps and increasing clean energy exports to India. The $1.7 billion project uses a public-private partnership model involving the Druk Green Power Corporation and Tata Power. This structure is designed to limit sovereign debt while leveraging private capital to displace 3.3 million tons of CO2 annually.
