Bhutan, the World Bank, and Tata Power have moved forward with a 515 million dollar agreement to develop the Dorjilung Hydropower Project. The facility is expected to provide 1,125 MW of renewable energy, strengthening Bhutan's energy infrastructure and export capabilities. This partnership combines international financing with private sector execution to scale up low-carbon power generation in South Asia. The project represents a significant investment in regional grid decarbonization and sustainable energy development.
