Bhopal Installs India's First Algae Tree for Carbon Capture
tribuneindia.comBhopal has deployed India's first algae tree, a solar-powered photo-bioreactor designed to combat urban air pollution. The 3-metre-tall device is capable of absorbing 1.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually while reducing PM2.5 levels in the city. Developed by the Mushroom World Group as part of a Smart City project, the unit uses algae to capture carbon from the atmosphere. This installation marks a move toward integrating biological carbon capture technology into urban infrastructure.
