The system is designed to absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, aiming to mitigate urban pollution and heat. Developed by Mushroom World Group, a single unit reportedly absorbs 1.5 tonnes of CO2 annually, which the developers claim is equivalent to the capacity of 25 mature trees. Curious about the biomass. What happens to the algae once it saturates? If they are not harvesting the algae for biofuel or fertilizer, they are just moving carbon from the air into a waste stream.
