Bellway starts construction on 79 energy-efficient homes in Pelton, County Durham with solar panels and EV charging

Bellway has begun construction on Monument Meadows, a development of 79 homes in Pelton, County Durham. The homes will feature solar PV panels, smart heating technology, and electric vehicle charging points to reduce energy costs and carbon footprints. The development also includes a two-acre landscaped open space to promote biodiversity, with Bellway contributing over 124,000 pounds for local green spaces. The first homes are expected to go on sale in July 2026, with residents moving in by autumn. Bellway is using sustainably sourced timber frame panels to cut carbon during construction and speed up the build. The project also provides nearly 600,000 pounds in funding for local education and healthcare services.
