Beijing Shougang LanzaTech, through its subsidiary Hebei Shoulang New Energy, has received ISCC EU certification from SCS Global Services. This is the first such certification for recycled carbon fuel globally. The certification confirms that ethanol produced from industrial off-gases meets EU sustainability and lifecycle carbon standards under the revised Renewable Energy Directive. With this certification, the company can sell recycled ethanol in the EU for marine and road transport, and as feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel. It also opens access to the ReFuelEU aviation market. The move positions the firm to tap into European green fuel demand, though actual volumes and commercial impact remain to be seen.
