BAT Nigeria has moved its entire manufacturing operation off diesel and onto compressed natural gas (CNG), cutting carbon intensity at its Ibadan factory. The site also now runs a 1.4 MW solar installation. The company reports a 98.64% waste recycling rate and a 42% reduction in freshwater withdrawal, beating its 2030 target. These steps show how a large manufacturer in Nigeria can combine fuel switching, on-site solar, and digital monitoring to lower emissions while keeping production running. The shift from diesel to CNG alone eliminates a major source of direct CO2 from the plant's energy supply.
