Banpu Invests in Future Tech for Long Term Growth Driven by AI and Decarbonization

The move comes as global data center electricity demand is expected to more than double by 2030, according to the IEA. Banpu's CVC follows a 3D approach focusing on digitalization, decarbonization, and decentralization. The company has already invested in 16 funds and six direct companies, covering over 1,100 businesses worldwide. Key areas include chip and processing power infrastructure, AI applications, and advanced small modular reactor technology. One of its investees, Enspired, an AI trading expert, is already helping Banpu's energy trading operations in Japan by improving price forecasting and operational efficiency. Banpu positions these investments as part of its Energy Symphonics strategy to become a technology driven energy company. The portfolio spans from data center growth to stable low carbon power generation, aiming to create synergies with its core business groups and deliver sustainable long term value for shareholders.
