Bangladesh is positioning itself to enter the global carbon market to fund its low-carbon transition. However, the ability to attract investment depends on the implementation of a rigorous Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system to ensure emission reductions are real and transparent. By focusing on sectors with existing infrastructure, such as solar home systems and clean cooking, Bangladesh can build the institutional trust needed to issue high-quality carbon credits and avoid common pitfalls like double counting.
