Bangladesh is positioning itself to leverage global carbon markets through nature based solutions and the framework of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement. By converting mangrove reforestation and sustainable agriculture into tradeable credits, the country aims to attract international climate finance to fund its adaptation efforts. To reach its potential, the government is focusing on developing robust Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems. These technical standards are essential for ensuring the integrity of carbon credits and avoiding double counting in international trades.
