If they are serious about carbon credits they need a monitoring protocol. Planting trees is one thing. Measuring carbon sequestration and getting it verified under a standard like Verra or Gold Standard is another. The article does not mention any registry or methodology.

The maintenance question is the real one. 750k saplings across six main centers and regional stations. That is a lot of watering and weeding. If they do not budget for labor and irrigation the survival rate will drop fast. Seen it happen with many government tree drives.
