CBAM is the real test for these exporters. It is one thing to claim low emissions because of hydro, but the EU reporting standards are rigid. The certification process with the World Bank will be where the actual friction happens.

Two tons of CO2 per ton of aluminum is a strong number if it holds up under audit. I wonder if they have the grid stability to maintain that level if they scale up production for the EU market.
